How to Manage Money and fight debt

Made through the shopping malls

by credit card in hand

buy large and small

I understand not

I wish I had more cash

but my credit card I will use

I use it in a flash

Oh, I have the holiday blues

Oh, Jingle Bells my credit smells

and I think I broke bank

Oh, I wish I was debt free

but I myself have to thank

Oh, Jingle Bells I poor

and I have some bills to pay

I still have some things to buy

what else can I say

Debt and holidays need not be connected. I've created some tips on how to manage money this holiday season and how to begin to tackle your debt before it becomes too much.

HOLIDAY DEBT TIP 3: How to avoid more debt

Spend Less - When I grew up was a holiday time to enjoy each others company visitation and spending too much. In fact we would all spend a lot more than we that we really should have. It took a couple of years, but we realized that it was the camaraderie and not gifts that made it special and holidays changed for the better. Rather than buying a gift for each family, we began to randomly pick names and buy only one present for one person and was there to be under a certain price. Our limit was $ 100, but it did not seem so expensive. The idea really counts and usually a $ 25 current or a homemade gift can mean more to a person other than a new plasma TV or I-POD.

Turn Off Those Lights! - You can be in the holiday spirit and want to show the world how wonderful Christmas is, but if you want to save money off the Christmas lights. These little guys zap so much money out of your bank account. Try to have them at 7-10 and wait until nearly Christmas, before you start lighting up.

Share tasks - Instead of making entire dinner for the whole family of aunts, uncles, in-laws, siblings and friends smoothing responsibility. Has Aunt Julie put her incredible mashed potatoes, your little brother put their favorite bottle of wine, mum and dad can make all the pies and treats, and your crazy cousin Johnny can deliver the festive coffee. Do not put the whole dinner on your shoulders and your bank account. Responsibilities will help show you how to handle money and eliminate a lot of personal expenses.

Exchange Presents 29 - Before went to hit the crowded shops maybe everyone should wait. Boxing Day is the ideal time for shopping. The malls can be super busy, but the money you will save is probably worth the extra time and frustration.

HOLIDAY DEBT TIP 4: Start Tackling Debt Now

You should start paying more than minimum. Try using debt stacking approach I have mentioned in several previous posts. Take care of your lowest debt first and wipe off the map. Use an extra money you have to get rid of this balance. I can not stress enough how important and how valuable a tool debt stacking can be. You must take care of your finances and stop racking up more credit card debt.
